Robert Wayne Watson Jr. passed away among family at his home in Emmett, Idaho on Oct, 31, 2018 Robert was born in Kingsman, Arizona as the 4th and youngest to Marie and Thomas Waller on Sept. 24, 1939. He Graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1958.

He joined the U.S. Navy as a Radio Man on the USS Norton Sound immediately after high school. He was called as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve in Brazil. He Performed 52 baptisms while on his mission.

He was released from his mission in 1962. Robert married Bonny Ann Smith in 1964 while attending BYU. He graduated BYU in 1966 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and finished Air Force ROTC.

He joined the U.S. Air force in 1965 as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was honorably discharged from his Air Force career in 1969 as a Captain. He ran a spa for a number of years before becoming a State Farm agent in 1978.

Robert became Bishop of the Canby, Oregon Second Ward in 1981 after having 7 children; 6 boys and 1 girl. He served as either Bishop or a Counselor in the Stake Presidency until he became the Oregon City Stake President in 1988 and served diligently until 1997. He retired from State Farm in 2003.

Robert and Bonny were called on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2008-2010 to Scotland. He spent the remainder of his years as a diligent steward of the Lords work. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Bonny, and his children in Thomas, Cory, Christopher, Amy, Jared, Nathan, and Robert Watson.

He also has 32 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services honoring Robert’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (980 W. Central Rd. ) in Emmett.

Viewing will be held from 9:30-10:50AM that morning prior to services. Burial with military honors will take place that day at 3:00 PM at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery (10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd. ) in Boise, Idaho.
