Age 95, at Concordia of South Hills, on Tuesday January 8, 2019. Son of the late Clarence F. and Aline (Swisher) Cook; beloved husband for 66 years of Jean (Higgins) Cook; loving father of Robert W., Jr. (Louise Ann) of Bethel Park and Beverley (Robert) Barron of Mt. Lebanon; cherished grandfather of Jessica and Carolyn Cook, Amy Barron Lucas and Kimberly Barron Read.

Bob was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and was a graduate of Withrow High School. Prior to World War II, he attended Ohio Wesleyan University for 2 years. During the War he served as a quartermaster in the Navy aboard the USS Goodrich (DD831) destroyer.

Following the War he completed his education and began his career in the Cincinnati sales office of Carnegie Illinois Steel Corporation. In 1960 he was transferred to U. S. Steel headquarters in Pittsburgh where he eventually became Manager of General Administrative Instruction for the Commercial Department. Bob was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, Cincinnati-Lafayette Lodge #483 F&AM, Tin Can Sailors Association and the Goodrich Association.

He was also a member of Ruthfred Lutheran Church, where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday morning, January 12th at 11:30. If desired, memorials may be made to Ruthfred Lutheran Church, 3401 South Park Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102 or Concordia of South Hills Annual Fund, 1300 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243. Arrangements entrusted to Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes.
