Obituary for Robert W. Peabody Jr. Print Robert W. Peabody Jr., 78, passed away on Friday February 8th, 2019 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, New York. He resided on Shaftsbury Hollow Road. Robert was born on November 7, 1940, in Hoosick Falls, NY, son of the late Robert W. and Anna Catherine (Bogardus) Peabody.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. Robert worked for Asplundh Tree Experts Company where he enjoyed the challenge of taking down the trees. He was Post Commander of the V.F.W., in Bennington, VT, before managing the Hoosick Falls Eagles Club for several years.

An avid outdoors man he liked to hunt and fish. He loved hunting with his hounds especially training his beagles to hunt rabbits. Survivors include his son Robert W. Peabody III (Michelle) of Bennington, VT, brother William Peabody (Kathy) of Hoosick Falls, NY sister Catherine Whitman (Pete) of Bennington, VT, grandchildren Lucas and Megan Peabody, also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday February 15, 2019 at 5:00 pm, from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 pm until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Bennington Humane Society or the Bennington Rescue Squad through the funeral home To send flowers to the family of Robert W.
