OBITUARY Robert Warren Muldrow January 17, 1927 – January 15, 2019 Robert Warren Muldrow, 91, of Sumter, South Carolina, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Born in St. Charles, SC, he was the son of the late Edward Boyd and Margaret Elizabeth Montgomery Muldrow. Robert was of the Presbyterian faith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Constance Panagiotopoulos Muldrow, son W. Stephen Muldrow (Shannon), and three grandchildren, Robert, Katherine, and William, of Odessa, FL. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a son, Robert Edward, sisters Lila Riggins and Jean Swensen, and brothers Buck, Ned, and Will Muldrow. Robert was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater, FL.

Robert enlisted in the United States Navy in 1945 and served as a Seaman First Class, earning the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign and World War II Victory Medals. He then received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University. In 1951, he enlisted in the U. S. Army Infantry, and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Among his medals and commendations were the Army Occupation Medal (Germany), National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Parachutist Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and five Overseas Bars. He did two tours of duty in Vietnam (1962-1963 and 1971-1972) and also served in Taiwan and Germany. Robert retired from the U. S. Army in 1972 and became a high school mathematics teacher for the Pinellas County Schools, teaching at Boca Ciega, Clearwater, and Countryside High Schools.

He retired from teaching in 1989 and embarked on a third career as an investment advisor. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home.

A celebration of life dinner will be held immediately following the services at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, 105 North Bayshore Drive in Safety Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater, FL.
