Rober Wbazzicalupo , April 14, 1946 — December 11, 2018

Obituary of Robert Bazzicalupo UTICA – Mr. Robert W. Bazzicalupo, age 72, currently of Utica and formerly of Westchester County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 11, 2018, at the Alpine Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Little Falls, where he had been a resident since June. Born on April 14, 1946 in the Bronx, Robert was the son of the late Alphonse and Kitty (Ford) Bazzicalupo. He was raised and educated in the Bronx, graduating from local schools.

For many years, Robert was employed as a Narcotics Officer with the Matteawan State Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Matteawan, Duchess County, New York. His true passion, however, was for boxing, a sport which he participated in professionally throughout most of his life. For twenty-two years, Robert shared in a relationship with the former Kerry Hayes.

On July 6th of this year, the two were united in marriage; giving each other one final gift, before Robert’s illness progressed. They were truly blessed. Survivors include his wife, Kerry, of Utica; his daughter and son-in-law, Mariya and Sean Perreault of Danbury, CT; his stepchildren, Glenn and Victoria Hayes of Verplanck, NY, Christopher Hayes and Jamie Hayes, both of Utica; his brother, Alphonse Bazzicalupo; his sister, Helen Lavastida; and his grandchildren, Reiley, Wesley, Chloe, Aaliyah, Eddie, Angelica, Damien and Olivia.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or funeral service. His body will be cremated and his family will hold a memorial mass for him at their convenience.
