Robin was a U. S. Army Veteran and also served in the National Guard. He is predeceased by his mother Eleanor Robinson Brown and father Lincoln Pernell; his stepfather George Brown, three brothers Albert “Chipper” Smith, Kirk Smith and George “Gee Gee” Brown.
