He was born July 28, 1960 at Liberal, the son of Charles and Thelma Joe (Hickman) Daugherty. He was an oil field worker and worked for Midwest Feeders in Ingalls.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and barbeque. Survivors include: his son, Ryan Carrell Daugherty of Broken Bow, Nebraska; two daughters, Misty Celmer and husband Andrew of Nashville, Tennessee, Raelynn Mendenhall and husband Adam of Garden City; four siblings, Deanna Daugherty of Liberal, Billy Daugherty of Liberal, Gene Daugherty of Liberal, Tina Daughtery; two grand-children, Benjamin Celmer and Lucas Celmer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service will be held at 10 am Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Liberal Cemetery. Public visitation will be held 3:00 – 5:00 pm Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Cremation will follow the visitation.
