Brookman, 64, of Tomah died Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse. He was born to Merel and Garnett (DeWitt) Brookman on Sept 24, 1954 in Tomah. He was a member of the Tomah High School Graduating Class of 1972.

After high school he went to work for Union Camp before becoming a Semi Driver. He worked for Schneider, CCX, and USF Holland. He was united in marriage to Joan Revels on June 24, 1994 in Tomah.

Rod was a member of ABATE, and the Teamsters Union. Rod loved being on the road whether it is driving his semi or driving his favorite motorcycle his 1973 FLH Harley Davidson “Old Red”. Many of these trips were with his wife Joan.

He had an infectious personality and was always a people person. He had a kind heart and would help out anyone when needed. He was a proud grandpa and his grandkids will always remember grandpa’s teasing and special camping trips.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Joan, a son Ty Brookman, 2 daughters Meg (Aaron) Stoy, and Beth (Nathun) Holen, 6 grandchildren’s, Gage and Eva Brookman, Jayden Stoy and Matthew (his finance Matti) Gjovig, Quinn and Ethun Holen, 3 sisters, Janice (Dennis) Henry, Wanda (Jim) Ashcraft, and Linda Marten, his father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Annette Revels, 3 brothers-in-law, John (Julie) Revels, Jerry Revels, Jeff Revels, a sister-in-law, Jennifer Revels-Wangen, Phyllis Snider and family, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Lana Brookman, and a brother-in-law Marlin “Perk” Marten. A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 202 E. Juneau St. Tomah.
