Roger Dale Sears, born on September 9, 1948, “A man with a million stories”, lost his life at 10:00pm, Saturday, June 9th, 2018 to a battle with small cell lung cancer. He was a son of the late Mary Madeline Sears and Willis Clyde Sears, and brother to: David Sears, James Sears, Jerald Sears, Keith Sears, and Sandra Sears. Roger was survived by his wife, Charlene K (Snyder) Sears, and 5 children: Melissa Plante, Roger Sears II, Rhonda Sears, RheaDale Reed, and Billy Robinson.

Roger was grandfather to 7 children and considered his family to be his biggest accomplishment. He received his childhood education from Steubenville Big Red High school and joined the United States Marine Corps as a Private First Class Corporal in 1968 (1st Light A A Missile Battalion, Marine Air Control Group-18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing FMF). Roger was a war veteran and earned numerous accolades of honor for his contribution to our country and the USMC.

We continued his life working at Weirton Steel/Mittal for the last 46 years. He was a great person and will be highly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers. We honor him on this day and every day forth.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 12-3 PM and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd. , Wintersville where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
