Roger E. Patterson, 70, died May 20, 2019, at his home near New Madrid. Born Oct. 21, 1948, in New Madrid, son of the late Raymond and Louise Hockersmith Patterson, he was a U.S. Army and Vietnam War veteran.

He was a member of American Legion Post 595, New Madrid and 32nd Degree Mason and member of Masonic Lodge, New Madrid. On June 23, 1968, he married Jerrie Ruth Beaher, and she survives of the home. Other survivors include: one daughter, Christina Ferguson of Marston; one daughter-in-law, Carrie Patterson of New Madrid; one grandson, Daniel Houston of New Madrid; and a special friend, Steve Bradley.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Charles “Chuck” Patterson; and two brothers, Ronnie Patterson and Phillip Patterson. Visitation is from noon until service time at 2 p.m. Thursday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Burial will follow with full Military Honors.
