Roger J. Albert of Salem, NH passed away on January 31, 2019. Born in Shirley, MA on September 9, 1929 to the late Dominic and Amanda (Joyal) Albert, Mr. Albert was a 20 year Navy retiree who attained the rank of Aviation Boastwain Mate Chief Petty Officer (E&). He served on several Aircraft Carriers including the USS Siboney, USS Cabot, USS Leyte, and lastly the USS Constellation.

Awards were 4th award Good Conduct, Europe Occupation Service Medal, National Defense and the Armed Forces Expedition Medal (Cuba). After his retirement from the Navy, he was employed as a Mechanical Engineering Technician/Equipment Specialist for Catapults and Arresting Gear by the Naval Air engineering Center at Philadelphia, PA, The Naval Air Warfare Center in Lakehurst, NJ and the Naval Air Systems Command Washington DC for new contruction of Nuclear Aircraft carriers, Uss Eisenhower and the USS Carl Vinson at Newport News VA. In his 43 years of service his duties took him to most all US Naval Aircraft and the Philippines to intall, repair, test and certify the launch and recovery equipment.

Mr. Albert also had a great sense of community service while living in Stratford NJ, where he was fully involved in Cub and Boy Scouts. He managed and umpired little league baseball and still found time to be a volunteer fireman with Stratford Fire Co He was the Engineer on the 100 foot aerial ladder truck with the rank of Lieutenant.

In 1973 he was awarded Fireman of the year. In 1993 Mr. Albert and his wife Charlotte settled in New Hampshire from San Diego, CA to be near family and friends. He was an active member of the Haverhill Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served as Head Deacon.

Family members include his wife Charlotte (Lees) Albert from Lawrence, a brother Norman from Shirley MA, a son Bruce and his wife Terry from Northfield NJ, daughters Debra Davis of Salem NH and Carolyn McKinney Ashford of Hudson, NH, the late Brian Albert who died in 1977 while serving in the US Army, five grandchildren Shawn, Albert, Scott and Ashley McKinney and Brianna Davis, great-grandchildren Liam and Emma Albert, Mariska McKinney, Natalie and Atticus Caron. Internment will be held at West Parish Garden Cemetery, 129 Reservation Raod, Andover, MA 01810 at a later date to be announced.
