OBITUARY Roger Keith Hornsby May 28, 1947 – October 24, 2018 RogerKeith Hornsby 1947-2018 Roger Keith Hornsby passed away October 24, 2018 at the age of 71. He was born in Salt Lake City, UT, May 28, 1947, to Roger Keith Hornsby and Irene Peggy Reich. His brothers are John and Jim Hornsby.

He graduated from South High School in 1965 and attended the University of Utah. Roger Loved sports. He played football, baseball, basketball and enjoyed skiing.

He joined the army in 1968 and served in South Korea. He then worked for the US Postal Service for 41 years. He cared about his elderly patrons and was always there like a mother hen making sure they were ok.

He also liked golf and gambling, but he really enjoyed watching sports at home or at a favorite bar to watch the Utah Utes while having a drink or two. Roger liked hunting and fishing with the kids. He taught them how hunt safely.

If we could get through his snoring, camping was really fun, too. He really liked his pool table and taught the kids how to play. When the grandkids were tall enough he enjoyed teaching them to play as well.

He had a good heart. He is survived by his wife, partner, and friend was Debbie Hornsby Dausie, his mother, Irene Hornsby, his children, Michael Hornsby, Aimie Hornsby and Brook (Adam) Anderson. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, John-Lewis and Clara A. Reich and Joseph and Alice Hornsby, his father Robert Keith Hornsby, Uncle Joe, Aunt Marie, and nephew, Daniel James Hornsby. The family is holding a private service. They will be receiving friends and family on Saturday, November10, 2018, 5:00pm at the The Leprechaun Inn,4700 South 900 East, Millcreek, UT 84177.

FAMILY Debbie Hornsby Dausie, Wife Michael Hornsby, Son Aimie Hornsby, Daughter Brooke (Adam) Anderson, Daughter Irene Hornsby, Mother Roger is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.
