Roger Lee Kokoskie, 61, of Bulger, died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born August 22, 1957 in Bulger; a son of the late Andrew Kokoskie and the late Mary Ann (Abbott) Fullum. Mr. Kokoskie was a 1975 graduate of Burgettstown High School.

He worked as a laborer for Local #1058 for 20 years in construction. He and his wife were the owners and operators of Wess’s Tavern, Bulger. Roger had an amazing life.

He was a friend to all and was known to make you laugh. He loved to hunt and fish, especially trips to Lake Erie with the guys. Roger enjoyed collecting and rebuilding classic cars.

He loved to play hook and was a member of the Wess’s men’s hook team for over 20 years. Above all he was happiest watching his girls play softball throughout high school and college. His retirement days were filled with playing with his dogs, Jake and Penelope whom he adored.

On March 21, 1986, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Traci Yerkey, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Gina Marie Kokoskie of Bulger and Christena (Kyle) Golik of Coraopolis; four sisters, Fran (Pete) Lucchino of Mechanicsburg, Anna (Dan) Browning of Washington, Diane (James) Haley of Bulger and Tina (Ron) Thompson of Shippenville; and four brothers, Raymond Abbott of Weirton, WV, Andrew (Sandy) Kokoskie of Clinton, Frank (Cheryl) Kokoskie of Oakdale and John Fullum of Pittsburgh. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Roger’s life on Feb 10, 2019 at Midway Fire Department from 1-5 pm.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nation Funeral Home, Inc., McDonald. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Midway V.F.D. or to Two Ladies Four Paws Rescue. Online condolences, photos and additional information are available at www.
