Roger M. Marsman, age 90, of Casnovia and formerly of Mears, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 in Muskegon. He was born March 12, 1928 in Grand Rapids the son of Peter and Rose (Visser) Marsman. He grew up on a farm in Cascade.

Roger married Doris (VandenBosch) on September 29, 1949. Roger loved the outdoors, especially camping and deer hunting. He was a general contractor before his retirement.

Roger was a member of West Golden Wesleyan Church in Mears. He is survived by his wife, Doris; his children, Merle (Mavis) Marsman, Russell (Janice) Marsman, Craig (Nancy) Marsman, Timothy (Beth) Marsman, Daniel (Kristie) Marsman and Doloris Marsman (Dean Swiger); twenty-three grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; and his brother-in-law, Herman Penninga. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Randall Gene Marsman, his grandsons, Timothy Lee Marsman and Michael Roger Lemmen; brothers, Edward, Harold, Richard and Louis Marsman; and sister, Arlene Penninga.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 5th, 2 pm at West Golden Wesleyan Church. The memorial service for Mr. Marsman will follow Saturday at 3 pm also at the church with Pastor Sue Beckman and Pastor Ron Rickard officiating. Memorials to West Golden Wesleyan Church, 2752 N. 34th Avenue, Mears, MI 49436 are appreciated.
