Ronny K. Weikert, 75, of Interlachen, Florida passed from this life on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Haven Hospice Care Center of Palatka, Florida following an extended illness. Visitation is Thursday, March 14th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Funeral services are Friday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola with Ray Hudson officating.

Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. Ron was born June 17, 1943 in Illinois City, Illinois the son of Floyd Weikert and Leatha Gilbert Weikert. On February 15, 1963 he married Carolyn Sue Welch at the Presbyterian Church in Viola.

Ron was a local farmer in Viola for years. He worked construction and he also worked as a salesman for the Milan Surplus Center, Cleary Building Corporation and retired from Overhead Door out of Waldo, Florida. He was a husband to Carolyn for 54 years and also a father to three daughters.

They resided in Viola until Ron and Carolyn moved to Interlachen, Florida in 2001. In his leisure time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles with his wife, hunting, doing leather work and camping. His greatest joy was his family.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Paula Mack (Jim) of Spring, Texas, Kimberly Arnold (John) of Perry, Florida and Lisa Hewett (Josh) of Palatka, Florida; Grandchildren: Anthony Retherford, Brittany Flaherty, Emily Mack, Gracie Mack and one grandchild on the way; Great Grandchildren: Landon Retherford, Kenton Retherford, Carolyn Grace Flaherty and Christopher Michael Floyd II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, his parents, great grandson Kaleb Retherford and 1 Angel Baby in Heaven.
