Ronald Dewayne Minter Ronald Dewayne Minter 73, of Duncan, Oklahoma, went to sleep in the arms of our Lord December 2, 2018 at his home with his family at his side. Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Duncan Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Humpfries officiating, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

Ron was born to Alfred and Jessie (Winters) Minter on March 1, 1946 in Ringling, Oklahoma, his life history is quite diverse most of it being in law enforcement and security. His accomplishment’s include being awarded a plaque with his Sargent Stripes Badge being retired in his honor for services above and beyond the call of duty, while working as a security officer in Houston, Texas. He had worked as a patrol officer for three years for a Security Agency in Portland, Oregon, he later became a town Marshal for two years, his work history and accomplishments include, awarded plaque from the police association of Houston, Texas, Chief of Police in Ringling, Oklahoma, Patrol Sargent in Portland, Oregon, Minco, Oklahoma Police Officer, Asst.

Fire Chief of Healdton, Oklahoma, waste water operator obtaining a OBLC license, head of security at the Duncan-Marlow Casino, and along with his late dear friend and asst. Jerald Hadley together they established Regional Security Agency in Duncan, Oklahoma. Chief of Police for Cement, Oklahoma for three years, police reserve officer for the town of Healdton, Oklahoma and retired because of health as a Police Officer of Stonewall, Oklahoma, whereby recomendation of Robert Thorton Chief of Police, was awarded a certificate for reserve police by the town of Ratliff City, Oklahoma, and the same recomedation for Ron’s wife being awarded a law enforcement spouse award by the American Police Hall of Fame.

Ron is survived by his wife; Cheryl Minter of the home, daughters; Theresa Pope, Sherri Boulware, Debbie Minter, Starla Minter and Debbie Tate, grandchildren Jeramie Hockett, Stacie Hockett, Richie Pope, Desi Rae Minter, Breanna Glashan, Gage Glashan, Bladon Glashan, Cassie Ray, Ashley Hornbeck, Emilee Rose, Tahlor Rea, Jacquie Palazolo, Shannon Coulson and Michael and 15 great-grandchildren, brothers Keith Minter of Pensacola, Fla. Patrick Brady Hari of Sacramento, Ca. , Gary, Wayne, Les and Jimmy Minter of Grass Valley, Ca.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Delilah Minter, son Ronnie Joe Minter and grandson Damien Ray. Pallbearers will be David Hornbeck, Robert Thorton, Russell Raines, Bill & Christina Fitzgerald and Jesse Riddles, honorary pallbearers will be Jeramie Hockett, Richie Pope, Richard Pope, Russell Karl and Billy Anderson.
