Obituary for Ronald Eugene McCurdy Ronald Eugene McCurdy, 75, died of Glioblastoma, October 21, 2018, at home with his family in Broken Arrow, OK. He was the beloved husband for 52 years of Judith Mary (Garringer) McCurdy. Born in Tulsa, OK on March 19, 1943, he was the son of Awtrey Willcockson McCurdy and Orville Cecil McCurdy.

He attended Tulsa public schools and graduated from Central High School in 1961. He studied “Bizness” at Tulsa Community College, was a Journeyman Electrician with Local #584, IBEW, and an Electrical Contractor dba McCurdy Service. He was Vice-President, Far East Sales at Automatic Protection Systems Corp.

, Senior Electrical Designer at BSW International, and Owner/ President at Fire Protection Professionals, Inc He spent much of his retirement building greenhouses and growing plants at Cimarron Creek Nursery, and came out of retirement in 2017 to be Fire Sprinkler Designer at Excel Fire Protection in Grand Junction, CO. He was a school spelling champ, paperboy, Eagle Scout, Church Elder, Youth Minister and active Democrat.

He will always be remembered for his love and dedication to his family, his sense of humor, warmth, generosity, courage, and love of plants, genealogy and ham radio. In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by 4 children, Randy McCurdy, Patrick McCurdy and Donna Ralph, all of Broken Arrow, and Jody Davis of Tulsa. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Heather Kizer, Toni Smith, Preston Ralph and Zachary Ralph, and 3 great-grandsons, Bryan, Aiden and Kevin.

Surviving siblings are Inez Major of Tulsa, Gary McCurdy and Linda McCurdy of Emporia, KS. He was also the brother of the late Louise Hancock and brother-in-law of the late George Hancock and the late Meryle Robertson. Surviving sibling-in-laws are Cathy McCurdy, Jean Garringer, Bill Garringer, Pat and Nolan Padgett, Frances Williamson, Gloria and Fred Esau, and Bill Robertson.

Plus numerous nieces and nephews and 1 hopelessly devoted 14 year old cat. Never one to seek attention, he asked that no Memorial services be held. His ashes will be buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK near his mother and other family members.
