Ronald L. Gregory, 77, of Sciotoville, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018, in the Southern Ohio Medical Center emergency room. Born on February 10, 1941 in Sciotoville, he was a son of the late Carl Gregory, Sr. and Vada Dillon Gregory and was a retired conductor for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad with 43 years’ service. Ron attended the Sciotoville Church of the Nazarene and was a graduate of East High School and Portsmouth High School, receiving his Doctorate of Mechanics from P.H.S.

He was a member of Aurora Masonic Lodge #48, Aladdin Shriners in Columbus, El Hasa Shriners in Ashland, past president of the Portsmouth Shrine Club, Scottish Rite and York Rite and was an associate of 40 et 8. Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Vicky Lynn Gregory, a brother, Carl Gregory, Jr. and two sisters, Vicky Gregory and Elaine Rivero Mathews. Surviving are his wife, Helen Hardin Gregory, a daughter, Susan (Steve) Goins of New Boston; a brother, Emmett “Greek” Gregory of Portsmouth; a sister, Nancy Bostick of New Boston; a grandson, Christopher Goins and his former wife and special friend, Sue Gregory of New Boston.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the BRANT FUNERAL SERVICE IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Chad Garinger officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s form 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. A masonic service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice or the Southern Ohio Shrine Club. www.
