Ronald P. “Ron” Basil age 68, of Algonquin, passed away in Barrington on January 30, 2019 with his loving family at his side. He was born on June 23, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Walter and Agnes (Schmidt) Basil. Ron was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked as a plumber most of his life.

He was a devout fly fisherman and enjoyed archery and music. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Joyce (Harbinson) Basil and his son Mark Basil. Survivors also include his sister Sandra (John) Figiel and his nephews Frank Manzella, Daniel Manzella and Peter Manzella.

Per Ron’s request he will be cremated. Friends are invited to meet with his family for a memorial visitation on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 12 noon to 2:00 PM with a Life Celebration Service to begin at 12:30 PM followed by Military Honors at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd. (one mile east of Randall Rd.
