Obituary of Ronald Brake Sr. Ronald L. Brake Sr., 85, of Jamestown passed away Saturday (March 2, 2019) in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident he was born July 27, 1933 in Jamestown, the son of the late Ralph and Mabel Himes Brake. Ron attended Jamestown High School and in earlier years was employed by Blackstone Corporation and AMSCO-Excel.

Prior to retirement he was employed by Valeo Corporation retiring in 1997. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family especially his two grandchildren, Wyatt and Kaylei and first great grandson Aaron James. He will be fondly remembered for his love of research on a variety of topics and his knack for telling a story to all he encountered.

Ron was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, raising fox hounds and springer spaniels. He was the first president of the Ellington Rod & Gun Club, served as councilman for Chautauqua Co. Sportsman Federation and was a member of the WNY Fur Harvesters. Ron was instrumental in lobbying for big game hunting on Sundays in New York State.

He also enjoyed music and played in several area bands. His love of the Banjo and putting a smile on everyone’s face will be greatly missed. Surviving are his loving wife/ soulmate of 66 plus years Yvonne Goulding Brake whom he married June 28, 1952 in SS.

Peter & Paul Church Rectory; his son: Ronald L. (Wendy) Brake Jr. of Falconer; two daughters: Kathleen (Robert) Enserro of Peoria, AZ, Ronda Brake-Kennedy (Darin Kennedy) of Jamestown; two grandchildren: Wyatt (Laura) Brake of Chicago, Kaylei Russell of Falconer and a great grandson Aaron James Brake. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother James Brake The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Rev. Doug Kibble pastor of Church on The Rock will officiate. Burial will be in Gerry Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be donated to the American Lung Association; UPMC Chautauqua Palliative Care or any public library of one’s choice.
