Ronnie’s Obituary Ronnie L. Mounts a resident of Smith Towers Matewan, WV was born on December 20, 1945 at Vulcan, WV a son of the late Edmond and Magdaline Estep Mounts passed away on Wednesday March 6, 2019 at the home of his daughter in Phelps, KY. Ronnie was 72 years old. In addition to his parents Ronnie is preceded in death by a sister Peggy Daniels; brothers Ernest “Ernie” Mounts, Dennis Mounts and Horace Pruitt.

Ronnie was a veteran having served during Vietnam in the 2ndand 47th9thinfantry division and he had also worked as a welder for the former Old Ben Coal Mines of Thacker #11 of Thacker, WV. Those that survive Ronnie include his daughters Theresa Hager and her husband Luke of Phelps, KY and Marisha Hunt and her husband Ben of Stopover, KY; and a son Jason Mounts of Puryear, TN; sisters Sandra Karlie and her husband Ed of Lexington, KY, Sharon Wesley of Lexington, KY, Penny Michalak and her husband Bob of Elpaso, TX, Deborah Casey and her husband Brad of Kimper, KY, Mitzie Dotson and her husband Billy of Majestic, KY, Melody Blankenship and her husband William “Bill” of Majestic, KY and Marsha Leedy and her husband Kevin of Majestic, KY; his best friend and brother Eddie Mounts and his wife Katha of Vulcan, WV; grandchildren Mikali and Casey, Breana Basham and her husband Joey, Makayla Hunt, Natasha Thomas and her husband Ralph, Tiffiney Working and her husband William, Cantessa Anderson and her husband Kurt; great grandchildren Hayden Thomas and Nadia Thomas. Also surviving Ronnie is a host of nieces, nephews, and his neighbors from the community at Smith Towers and his beloved dog Todd.

In honoring Ronnie’s request a graveside service will be held on Saturday March 9, 2019 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the family cemetery of Vulcan, WV with his brother in law Bill Blankenship presiding burial will immediately follow the graveside service.
