Rooney Cheng Chen, 83, passed away on April 21, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Rooney was born on June 22, 1935 in Shanghai, China to Ciong Chen and Yueh Sien Fang. He later moved to Hawaii and together with his sweetheart Lily King Chen had three sons; Alexander (Kelly), Benjamin (Hsiao-Mei), and Christopher (Andrea) Chen.

He was a retired Realtor who specialized in the Commercial Realty sector. He will always be remembered by those who loved him as an individual who had that playful sense of humor and positive outlook on things even when others weren’t so optimistic. Family will always have fond memories of him when hearing the phrases, “Oh Boy!

”, “What a ride! ” and “Imagine if…” He truly knew how to take a situation and put a spin on it that made those around him smile and/or chuckle. Family will celebrate this incredible man and his life’s journey on Tuesday, 5/21/2019 at Valley of the Temples Mortuary Trousdale (UPPER) Chapel.
