Obituary for Roosevelt Levell Smart Roosevelt Levell Smart, affectionately known as Lorell, was born on August 4, 1979 to Laura Smart and Roosevelt Malone of Chicago, Illinois. Roosevelt was the first born to both parents. Lorell received his early education at Carver Elementary then Dyett Middle School in later attended DuSable High School.

He received his GED in 2004. Lorell was a quiet, humble and loving person, who touched the lives of so many by simply being accepting and caring. In any situation Lorell extend himself to whoever was in need.

His charming smile resonated throughout his life with anyone he came in contact with. Lorell had a deep devotion and love for his family, especially his children. On September 1, 2018, Lorell was called home to paradise, joining the celebration of eternal life with his younger brother Demetrius Thomas.

Lorell leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Kimberly Patton-Smart; mother Laura Smart; father Roosevelt Malone; two sisters Raven (Raymond) White and Lucrecia Thomas; brother Darius Thomas; mother-in-law Margaret Patton; father-in-law Bobbie Patton; brother-in-law Bobby Patton Jr.; sister-in-law Latonya (Roosevelt) Smith; two sons Roosevelt Smart and Levell Smart; two daughters Jabrille Smart and Jerniah; three grandchildren Kamoni, Lyalah and Ovianeo Smart; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
