Rosa’s Obituary PETERSTOWN, WV – Rosa “Rosie” Francis Mills, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at her home in Peterstown, WV. Born June 14, 1934, in Gatewood, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Blue and Bertha Lee Lykens Smith. Rosie was a member of the Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church in Red Sulphur Springs, WV.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister who loved to quilt and tend to her rose garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burl F. Mills; two brothers; two sisters; and an infant granddaughter. Survivors include three sons, Butch Mills and wife Lisa of Peterstown, WV, Cecil Mills and wife Dejuana of Ballard, WV, and Frank Mills and wife Kim of Bozoo, WV; six daughters, Marva Boggess and husband Tommy of Rich Creek, VA, Martha “Sissy” Canterbury and husband Jimmy of Peterstown, WV, Marsha Farley and husband Gary of Bozoo, WV, Marlene Weikle and husband Bruce of Union, WV, Mary Frazier and husband Dana of Lindside, WV, and Margaret “Kathy” LoBello and husband Ed of MD; one brother, Billy Smith of Fayette County; two sisters, Louise Bishop of Bradley, WV, and Lorene Jones of Minden, WV; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Nancy Ford, Shawnitta Huffman, Sharon Lowery, and Barb Meadows.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with brothers Freddie Reynolds and John Rinehart officiating. Burial will follow at the Mills Family Cemetery in Peterstown, WV, with Rosie’s grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 4, 2019, at the funeral home.
