Rosalie Barbara Gardner September 21, 1922 – January 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Rosalie Barbara Gardner (nee Brandl) was born on a farm in Hartington, Nebraksa, into a large German immigrant family with 10 siblings. Moving with her husband Fred Buckman to Los Angeles, CA, then San Diego, CA, in 1941, she started her own family. She worked for Convair, also known as General Dynamics, until retiring in 1988.

She was an avid sports fan, an excellent bowler, loved to dance, and enjoyed 32 consecutive seasons cheering on the San Diego Chargers. She was an Usherette for The San Diego Symphony, a volunteer at the Alvarado Hospital, and served with La Mesa RSVP. She suffered a stroke in 1998 and survived 20+ years disabled, living in multiple care facilities.

Rosalie is survived by 4 sons, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Private family services with inurnment will be held in San Diego, CA. She will be placed to rest at the El Camino Memorial Park (5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA, 92121).
