Burcaw, Rosalie C. Rosalie Corley Burcaw went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2018 at Hospice of the Chesapeake. Rosalie was born July 6, 1923 in Pursglove, WV, to Rose and Burr Corley. She was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School in Mill Creek, WV.

She also graduated from Marshall University and West Virginia University with masters degrees in history and biology. Rosalie began her 44 year teaching career in Man, WV. However, most of her career (thirty-six years) was spent as a biology teacher at Brooklyn Park High School in Baltimore, MD.

She was active with many students as class advisor and yearbook advisor. She was very much loved and respected by students, parents and educators. She inspired many students and relatives to pursue careers in medicine and science related fields.

In September 2015 she was awarded an official citation by the Maryland House of Delegates for her many years of loyal dedication to Brooklyn Park Jr./Sr. High School and citizens of Brooklyn Park. Rosalie was an active member of Friendship Church of the Brethren for forty years.

Recently she participated in the Retired Teachers Chorus of Anne Arundel County. She loved to travel. Rosalie is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Charles Richard Burcaw.

She is also survived by her sister, Lucy Hogan Gott, of Morgantown, WV; three nephews (Hobert Corley Jr., Mike Crickard, David Burcaw); five nieces ( Linda Oliver, Sandra Mitchell, Rosie Martin, Lisa McGlaughlin, Mary Jensen); and twenty-one great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Hobert Corley, sisters Florence Dunn and Lorraine Crickard, a nephew Burr Patrick Crickard and a great niece, Julie Crickard. Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington, WV on Saturday, March 3rd from 1 to 2pm at which time service will be held.

Interment will follow in Knights of Pythias Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held in Maryland at a later date. A Memorial Service will be held for Mrs. Burcaw on June 9th, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Friendship Church of the Brethren 217 Mansion Rd.
