OBITUARY Rosalind Wedeles Pallot Spak March 14, 1934 – January 21, 2019 Rosalind Wedeles Pallot Spak passed away peacefully on Monday, January 21st, after an extraordinary life filled with adventure and excitement. She will be remembered for her beauty and her grace, and her love of animals. In fact, she always had at least one Doberman in the family.

She was born in Quincy, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida where she was the President of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority and was one of the first women to be elected to student government. At UF, she met her future husband Richard (Richie) Pallot and together they built a wonderful life in Miami, where she lived the rest of her days.

A patron of the arts for more than five decades, Roz built lifelong friendships and contributed mightily to the Miami Museum of Science, Florida International University, and the Florida Grand Opera, for which she served as President of the Young Patrons of the Florida Grand Opera (YPO). After Richie’s premature death, she married Ted Spak with whom she enjoyed a wonderful second chapter traveling to exotic places with friends and family and enjoying summers in the North Carolina mountains. Roz cherished beauty in many forms; from her stunning rose garden, to her always fashionable style, and passion for collecting antiques.

She turned that passion into a business, with her longtime friend Barbara (Babs) Parker, which lasted for more than 30 years. Roz enjoyed many enduring friendships and regularly visited with friends near and far. Roz is remembered lovingly by her children Melissa Slocum and Joe (Susan) Pallot, Robert (Sharon) Spak, Marcee Albertario; her adoring grandchildren Richard Pallot, Max Pallot, Claire Slocum, Michelle Saltzmann (Robert), Melissa Peck (Jason), Matthew Albertario (Michelle) and nieces and nephews, all of whom cherished her uniquely regal and elegant style.

Services for Rosalind Spak will be Thursday, January 24that Temple Judea of Coral Gables at noon followed by a graveside service at Mt. Nebo/Miami Memorial Gardens. The family will receive family and friends at the Spak residence following the service.

Contributions in her honor may be made to the Linda Pallot Art Education Fund at Temple Judea, ASPCA , The Theodore & Rosalind Spak Law Scholarship Endowment at Florida International University or the charity of your choice.
