Mrs. Rosemary Porter, 94, of Ocala, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Ted & Diane Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield. A native of Beckley, West Virginia, she and her family moved to Ocala in 1955. Before moving to Florida she attended West Virginia Wesleyan College.

She worked for many years for the local phone company, and retired from Sprint in 1989. Rosemary was a loyal (and AVID) Gator fan for over 40 years! Her family was her greatest joy in life, and loved to spend time with them in their cabin on Lake Tomahawk in the Ocala National Forest.

Her survivors include her three children, Walt Porter (Nancy), Richard Porter, and Carolyn Grice (David); her brother Dr. William Clarke (Carolyn); her sister Martha Lee Davis (Robert); her grandchildren Cynthia, Christine, and Michael; 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by the love of her life, Coach Andy Porter, and her grandson Scott Grice. Her loyal English Bulldog Champ was always at her side.
