Obituary Service Details Rosemary Ellen Foster, 78, of Rotterdam, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Ellis Hospital. She was born on June 21, 1939 in Carthage, NY to the late Frederick and Corrine Bartholomew. She resided in Rotterdam most of her life, coming from Albany and Carthage, NY.

Rosemary graduated from Holy Names Academy, Albany, NY. She worked as a Home Health Aide. Rosemary loved anything and everything Irish.

She was an extremely proud grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Harold “Vern” Foster, whom she married on August 17, 1973 in Schenectady, NY; children, Caleb “Ted” Smith (Suzanne), Shawn Smith (Debby), Molly Arduini (Mike); step-son, Mark Foster (Linda); grandchildren, Kristin Smith (Dan Simmon), Grant Smith, Carissa Arduini, Matthew and Natalie Foster; and sister-in-law, Shirley Hine. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, Inc., 1 Mohawk Ave.
