OBITUARY Rosemary Miller July 7, 1942 – January 3, 2019 Our dear mother passed away peacefully Thursday, January 3rd, 2019. We are heartbroken, but know she is dancing in heaven with the Lord. We are comforted to know how much she loved the Lord and are thankful for all her teachings.
She was an amazingly strong and independent woman who taught us how to be strong, faithful and to never give up. We will miss her dearly. She fought breast cancer for 9 years.
She fought it bravely and always with a positive attitude, even till the end. Our family was blessed to be able to spend the last days with her and are forever grateful. Rosemary was born July 7th, 1942 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Robert and Ella Stanton.
She was one of six children. She moved to Bakersfield, California at the age 4. She grew up in Belridge, California where her father worked for Standard Oil.
She went to Belridge elementary and then onto Taft High School. During her senior year she met Kenneth Miller and they later married January 22, 1960. After marrying and living in Taft, they moved to Bakersfield where eventually they owned and operated Miller Livestock Truck Company.
She was an integral part of the book keeping and accounting for the business. She raised two girls, Lorinda and Kendra and was very involved in their education and activities. Through her girls love of horses, she also found the same love.
She became involved in raising, showing and breeding Paint horses. She was a director in the APHA and the President of the Central California Paint horse club. She also enjoyed bowling and was a part of the women’s softball league.
She also met faithfully for over 30 years to play pinochle once a month with girls that she went to high school with. She then built, owned and operated A Country RV Park for over 20 years. Even until the last days she enjoyed spending time in the office and doing the bookkeeping.
She was very proud of her accomplishments. She is joined in heaven by her two babies Jeffrey and Pam who died shortly after birth, her mother, father and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of 59 years; Kenneth Miller and her two daughters, Lorinda Olson(Dave) and Kendra Tasker(Bob); grandchildren Tyler, Collin, Montana, Caroline and Cooper; step grandchildren Rachel, Melissa and Kristen and step great grandchildren August, Foster, Grace, Dax and Ethan; two sisters Nancy and Barbara and one brother; Robert; along with many nieces and nephews She loved them all so very much.
A special thanks to her niece Patrice who worked for her at the RV park and cared for her during her last years, as well as the caregivers Reyna, Maria and Shelon who were so kind and helpful and made her life comfortable in her last days. We have lost a generous soul, who loved her family and her dog Joe Joe. She left an indelible mark on those around her.
