Age 99, of Manhattan, IL passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Presence Villa Franciscan Nursing Home in Joliet, IL. Born June 15, 1919 in Joliet, IL to the late James E. and Mary A. (nee Herbert) Rogan. In her youth, Rosemary was a teacher within the Joliet grade schools.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manhattan and was the past president of the Catholic Women’s League in Joliet. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Ladies of Columbus, and the… Read More » Irish American Society County of Will. She also enjoyed needlepoint.

Surviving are one son, James W. Lawler of Manhattan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Virgil M. Lawler, whom she married July 30, 1948; three brothers, Francis (Maxine) Rogan, Robert (Bernice) Rogan, and John (Sophie) Rogan; and sister-in-law, Mary Rita (James A.) Phelan. Rosemary will lie in state, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manhattan, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan.

Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan, is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be directed to the Irish American Society Scholarship Fund: 1800 Mason Ave. , Joliet, IL 60435.
