Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7PM on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bethley was born July 10, 1924, in Ferriday, the daughter of Fleming Owens and Minnie Taylor.

Survivors include five sons, Purcell Bethley, Jr., Ferriday, LA, Larry Bethley, Colorado Springs, CO, Freddie Bethley (Eva), Bennie Bethley, Marion Bethley; a step-son, Louis Bethley, all of Los Angeles, CA; three daughters, Patsy Richardson, Clayton, LA; Margie Bethley, Los Angeles, CA, Doris Brown (Kevin), Pearland, TX; a step-daughter, Doris Matthews (Rodney), Ferriday, LA; an uncle, Olee Green, Ferriday, LA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
