Rox’s Obituary Rox Ibrahim Gatia Entered Life: December 22, 1934 Entered Eternal Life: May 4, 2019 Dear Family & Friends, We regret the loss of the late Rox Ibrahim Gatia Sr. of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Born in Telkaif, Iraq, he was the Son of the late Ibrahim Jajo Gatia and the late Regina Thomas Kattula. Former spouse of Huda Zora Gatia and Father to Mary (4 children), Vivian, Zeena, Rita, and Rox (Amanda) Jr. (3 children).
Brother to Amira (late George) Yousif and the late Nadira (late Daoud) Jadan. Uncle to Ibtisam (Yacoub) Bakkal, Diana (Lahib) Sulaka, Linda (Ghazwan) Delly, Ban (Sam) Yousif, Jerry (Christine) Jadan, Freddie Jadan, and the late Husam Jadan. He is survived by a large and loving extended family whom he loved and cherished.
Rox Sr. dedicated over 36 years of his life in honorable civil service for the U.S. Department of Defense. He was an accomplished scientist, researcher and an educator for over 60 years; teaching electrical engineering and physics in multiple universities across the world. Berg Road, Southfield, Michigan Clergy of the record will be Father Bryan Kassa A Committal Service will follow the Requiem Mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 25800 10 Mile Road, Southfield, Michigan In observation of the seven day wake. A memorial luncheon and Prayer Vigil will follow the cemetery services the family will stay till 7:00 Pm at Regency Manor Banquet Center 25228 W. 12 Mile Rd.
