OBITUARY Roy Lee Adams Jr. February 8, 1929 – September 6, 2018 Funeral services for Roy Lee Adams Jr. age 89 of Collinsville, formerly Park Hill, OK, will be held on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Memorial Park Chapel at 5111 South Memorial Drive in Tulsa, OK, with Pastor John Lee officiating. His visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 beginning at noon until 6:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Online condolences for his family may be left at www.

reedculver.com. Pallbearers for Roy include Jayson Stacy, Heath Stacy and Michael Burger, Christopher Windholz, Jesse Burger, and Richard Prill. His honorary pallbearers include Boyd Walker, Ronnie Adams, Buddy Adams, and Rhonda Agnew.

Roy Lee Adams Jr. was born on February 8th, 1929 in Tulsa, Ok, the son of Roy Lee and Birdie (Buckmaster) Adams Sr. There were four brothers in the home, Bob, Raymond, Ronnie and David. Upon completing high school, Roy was enlisted into the US Marine Corp, and served as a Machine Gunner. It was while fighting in Korea that he was wounded and received the Purple Heart.

Following his honorable discharge, he returned back to Oklahoma and finished his degree. He earned his living as a Building Engineer in the construction industry. He was a hard working man, and when he wasn’t working, he was the proud papa of Larry, Connie, Terry and step daughter Jan.

There was nothing he loved more than being outdoors and fishing , hunting and golfing, it was his passion in life. He was a proud member of the Bass Association, and never missed the chance to accompany his friend, Jimmy Houston on a fishing or hunting excursion. He married Freda Jan Wright in Tulsa, OK in May of 1979.

Together they enjoyed life, sports, and watching the grandchildren grow. Roy and Freda were avid deer, quail and pheasant hunters. They enjoyed packing up the Winnebago and sight seeing around the USA or traveling the world to see the many sights.

Roy and Freda were Christians by faith and were long time members of the Park Hill Baptist Church and also of the Keys Southern Baptist Church, where their many friends were more like family to them. Roy had a smile that made you feel welcome, and was always available to talk. He was so proud of all the activities of his grand and great grandchildren.

Roy and Freda moved to St. Simeon’s when their health began to fail them, and even then, they enjoyed each others company and the every day that was given them. Freda passed in December of 2017 and Roy remained in Tulsa until he passed from this life on September 6th, 2018 with his loved ones by side. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Roy is preceded in death by his mother, father, wife Freda, daughter Connie Atwell, three brothers, Bob, Raymond, and David Adams, and one grandson, Robert Atwell. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Larry Adams and wife Scarlett of Collinsville, OK, one daughter, Terry Burger and Husband Charlie of Cleveland, OK, and step daughter Jan Blankstead of Turley, OK. he leaves one brother, Ronnie Adams of Broken Arrow, OK, .

He lives on in his grandchildren, Gary Stacy, Kelley Stacy, Jayson Stacy, Heath Stacy, Christal Prill, Michael Burger, Carolyn Atwell, step grandchildren Eric Blankstead, Cody Blankstead, and Jana Blankstead, as well as many great and great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
