OBITUARY Roy “Rusty” Edward Woods March 16, 1947 – January 19, 2019 Roy Edward “Rusty” Woods March 16, 1947 – January 19, 2019 Roy Edward “Rusty Woods, 71, passed away Saturday evening, January 19, 2019, in Arlington, TX. He was born March 16, 1947, in Dallas, the youngest of five children of Helen Ruth and Ray Woods. He married Paula Fry in 1975.

She preceded him in death in 2007. He was a member of the Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Dallas and attended public schools in Dallas. He lived most of his life in Dallas until moving to Arlington two years ago.

Rusty was a retired master carpenter and finisher in and around the Dallas area. Together with Paula, he enjoyed traveling, live music events, and old movies. He served in the US Navy from 1965 until 1969, receiving the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Rusty is survived by special friend, Tammi Davis; his sister, Linda and husband, John Boucher, his brother-in-law, Carroll Sultemeier; and his sister-in-law, Millie Monaghen. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three sisters, Helen Ray Nicholson, Sue Sultemeier, and Judy Worthington, one nephew, and two nieces. He is survived by two cousins, James Cleo Woods and Emy Woods; four nephews, Brad Sultemeier, Patrick and Kevin Nicholson and Lewis Worthington; and, six nieces, Robin Tuley, Kelley Worthington, Cheryl, Carole, Cathy, and Christy Boucher; plus 16 great and 5 great-great nephews and nieces.

The family acknowledges and thanks all who cared for Rusty. Visitation will be held on January 26, 2019 9:00 am followed by Funeral Services at 10:00 am and interment at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6000 R L Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232.
