She was born on November 15, 1921 in Cabell County to the late Emma (Miller) & Raymond Lively. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett “Jack” Walters, and son Randy.
She was a remarkable woman who led a life of determination to make sure her family had what they needed to be successful in life and to be servant leaders. She was witty, possessed a great sense of humor and was an excellent cook who made her own special “home-made” candies for hundreds of friends, neighbors and family members over the years! She brought smiles to all that knew her! She has been a member of the Teays Valley Church of God for the last eight years. Prior to that she was an active member of the Southridge Church of God for over 40 years.
She has been active with her church family for many years visiting the elderly, sending cards to the home-bound, preparing her own brand of “home cooked” meals for various church dinners and community activities as well as hosting the Women of the Church of God meetings in her home. She is survived by her son, Douglas J. Walters of Charleston; daughter, Sue Ragland (Paul) of Cross Lanes; grandsons, Brandon (Jennifer) Walters of South Charleston; Sean (Ellen) Ragland of Knoxville, Tennessee; Chad (Polly) of Louisville, Kentucky; and Josh (Lindsey) Mullins of Charleston.
