Ruby Stepson Carter passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 92 years old. Ruby was born in Logan, West Virginia on February 3, 1926.

At age 18, she moved to Washington, D.C. where she was a secretary for the State Department in the U.S. Passport office. It was there that she met her loving husband of 72 years, Robert Earle Carter. She was the beloved mother of four to Cheryl Carter Claus (Robert), William Carter, Steven Carter (Brenda) and Robert Carter Jr. (Dolly).

She was an adored grandmother of six to her granddaughters Alison Claus Lotz, Keri Carter Martin and Megan Carter Algarate, and grandsons Brian Carter, Neil Carter and Bill Vaughn. She was also a great-grandmother to ten. She was preceded in death by her brother Andrew and sisters Katie and Ruth.

She will be missed by many for her kind-hearted spirit and compassion for others, especially for her family.
