Rulon George Guymon, age 87, a true fighter ‘til the end, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 surrounded by his children in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born September 2, 1931 in Provo, Utah to Lafayette Carlos and Mary Winnie Jackson Guymon. Rulon had 4 children with his first wife Nancy Campbell Bassett.

On March 14, 1969 he married Phyllis Ann Spawn in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She preceded him in death on November 11, 2013. Rulon grew up in Provo, Utah.

He went to BYU where he enjoyed playing trombone in the BYU band. He raised his family in Wyoming and Utah. He was a journeyman electrician and a member of the IBEW for 54 years.

He worked at the Nevada Test site the last years of his career. He was proud to work on the joint Nuclear testing with the Soviet Union. He was proud to work on the joint Nuclear testing with the Soviet Union.

He loved being a father and time spent with his children. Rulon and Phyllis enjoyed their retirement traveling in their motor home. Rulon missed her and spoke of her often.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching them live and on TV. He enjoyed bird watching, amateur radio and CB, working with his computer and Facebook. He retired to Mesquite, NV in 2001.

Rulon could outwalk anyone in 105 degree heat. He loved the heat. Survivors include two sons and two daughters: Ricky (Myong) Guymon of Everett, WA; George (Gaya) Guymon of North Las Vegas, NV; Carol (Kim Dille) Jennings of Kaysville, UT; Diane (Wes) Curtis of Clearfield, UT; one step son and two step daughters: Betty Whitney of Mesquite, NV; Beverly Webster of Casper, WY; Terry (Cindy) Spawn of Mesquite, NV; 23 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Eldon (Diane) Guymon of TX; Lela (Kurt) Christensen of Bountiful, UT and Reed (Harriet) Guymon of Provo, UT.

Rulon was preceded in death by: his parents, Lafe and Winnie; two brothers: LaGrand and Garth; one grandchild, Bonnie Jean; one great grandchild, Violet and one son in law, Calvin. Graveside interment will follow at a later date. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.
