Ruth Ann Barrett New Brighton Ruth Ann Barrett, 69, of New Brighton, passed through this early lifetime to a better place. She went to be with those she loved, her parents, Naomi G. and John T. Barrett; her brother, JC Barrett; and her grandparents, Carl and Alice Gongaware. Her amazing parents were the owners of the former Junction Stretch Shop & Save in New Brighton.

Ruth taught for twelve years as an adjunct professor at Point Park, Robert Morris and Carlow colleges. She was then a successful sign painter. She is survived by her loving sister, Alice (Henry) Waxler and brother, Dan (Nanci) Barrett, both of Rochester, several nieces, nephews and beloved four legged friend, “Haley”.

At her request there were no services. Entombment took place in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum. The family requests memorials be made in Ruth’s name to Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001 or Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association, 3582 Brodhead Road, Suite 201, Monaca, PA 15061.
