Ruth Ann (Davis) Markcum, age 80, of Lakeview passed away at her home on October 16, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Ruth was born in Howell, Michigan on December 13, 1937 the daughter of Norman and Ruth (Tamlin) Davis. She was raised in the Howell area and attended Howell Public Schools.

She married the love of her life, Donald R. Markcum on July 4, 1957 in Howell. Ruth was a homemaker and also worked in team operated trucking with her husband. They drove for ETV trucking and Hollenbeck… Read More » Enterprises for over 17 years.

Ruth enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle, singing, feeding the birds, and humming birds. She loved animals and raised horses, deer, raccoons, skunks, and a squirrel. More than anything Ruth loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grand and great-grand babies.

Ruth will be dearly missed and is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald Markcum of Lakeview; her son Ronald Markcum of Lakeview; daughters, Jean (Steven) Senn of Sheridan and Trudy (Dave) Satterlee of Lakeview; grand children, Torey (Hope) Hemmes, Brent Satterlee, Bridget (Ryan) Sonntag, Scott Hemmes, Trevor Markcum, and Tyler (Liz) Markcum; 11 great-grand children; brothers , Jim (Henny) Davis of Altona, Clay (Carol) Davis of Lakeview, Paul Davis of Perry, Dick (Nancy) Davis of Lakeview; sisters, Cecile Huetter of Howell and Chris (Vince) Bunch of Cherry Hill, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Ruth Davis; great-grandson, Easton Ryan Sonntag; brother, Samuel “Sam” Davis; sisters, Norma Smith and Georgia Butcher; and a sister-in-law, Pam Davis. Funeral services for Ruth will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Lakeview.

The family will greet friends at 1:00 PM until time of service. All are invited to a luncheon in the Brigham Funeral Chapel Banquet Room following the interment at Cato Twp Cemetery. Contributions in Ruth’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
