She was raised and attended schools in Sheffiled, Iowa until the eighth [8th] grade. On May 19, 1954 she was married to Clyde William Hoing, and to this union two children were born: Doug and Robert. During most of her life she worked as a laborer in both an egg factory, and the brick and tile place on the east side of Iowa Falls, Iowa.

She was also a housewife and mother to her two children. One of her favorite pastimes was to go to the casino, enjoying that mostly later on in life. Ruth Ann Hoing is survived by her two sons: Robert Hoing of Alden, Iowa and Doug [Kristie Folk] Hoing of Alden and a step grandchild: Dustin Folk of Popejoy, Iowa.
