Ruth M. Brown, 91, of Arcadia went to heaven to be with her Lord and family on Saturday, December 29th, 2018, at the Brookefield Park Nursing Home in St. Paul, Nebraska. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Faith Bible Church, 345 West Owens, Arcadia, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the church.

Pastor Ray Berry will be officiating. Interment will be in the Arcadia Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Ruth was born to Donald and Marie (Rolf) Packard on February 5th, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, NE and graduated from Comstock High School in 1945. After graduation she rode the troop train to California, to help a friend run a grocery store. After two years she returned to Comstock where she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Brown.

They were married February 26th, 1948 in St. Paul Nebraska. They settled in Arcadia where they had 5 children. Ruth lived in the same house for 66 years before retiring to the nursing home.

Ruth was employed at Tunings Trading Post, Dalby’s Market, Ruby’s Market and the Gathering Place Cafe. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She loved her flowers, spending time in the garden, and cooking for her family.

She had a playful spirit, a kind heart, and a commitment to living a life for God. Faith and Family were the two staples in her life. She is survived by a daughter, Brenda (AJ) Haller, of Grand Island, Ne; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Marie Packard; her husband, Robert G. Brown; sons, Robert L. Brown and Reed Brown; daughters, Georgia Lehn and Judy Keough; granddaughter, Terry Lehn; great-grandson, Emilio Navarrete; 1 brother, Don Packard; and 3 sisters, Phyllis Johnson, Dixie Levander, and Betty Shaffer.
