Ruth Burt’s Obituary Bruce, MS-Ruth Burt Cowsert, 87, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Sunshine Health and Rehab after an extended illness. She was born January 10, 1931 in Calhoun County to the late parents of Bill Burt and Audie McGregor Burt. She was a devoted homemaker and had previously worked at Glen Slacks Garment Company and assisted her husband in the upholstery business.

She was a devoted member of Judah Church of The Lord’s Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents,, husband, Maurice Cowsert, sister, Francis Galloway, brothers, C.D. Burt, Billy Burt, Henry Burt and a grandson, Brad Cowsert. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Becky (Donnie Coats, Houlka, Patricia (Roy) Hughes, Bruce; sons, Jerry Cowsert, Randolph, Donald (Becky) Cowsert, Faulkner, Ricky (Cindy) Cowsert, Bruce; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 8 great- great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Judah Church of The Lord’s Jesus Christ from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00P.M. Funeral service will be at the church at 11:00 A,M. Monday, December 24, 2018 with Bro. Danny Washington officiating and Bro.

Jerry Wilson is assisting. Burial will be in Rocky Mount Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Austin, Justin Berry, Scott Cannon, Shane Cowsert, Richard Galloway, Jeff Lamb and Donovan Randolph.
