Ruth E. (Greiner) Burd, 87, of 1509 Park Rd. , Winfield, entered into rest at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born October 6, 1931, in Dewart, a daughter of the late Chet and Mary (Quiggle) Greiner.

In 1988, she married Willlard E. Burd, who survives. Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Watsontown high school. She was employed at Selinsgrove State School as a nurse’s aide.

Ruth was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Winfield. She enjoyed reading, camping, and traveling with Willard to Florida. Surviving in addition to her husband are one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Tamara Fisher of Winfield; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Charlotte Greiner of Dewart; one sister, Dorothy Fisher of Williamsport; four grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Wood; one brother, Paul; and two sisters, Mary Louise and Edith. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd. , Mifflinburg, and 10:30 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Winfield, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Matthew Loyer, officiating.

Burial will be in Chestnut Hills Cemetery, Winfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701 Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd. , Mifflinburg.
