Ruth Elizabeth Caspersen, 95, of Cuyahoga Falls, went Home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2019. Ruth was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on December 31, 1923, daughter of the late Archie and Edith Allen. She worked in Accounting for Greyhound Bus Company, and in an effort to help during WW II, she became a Rosie the Riveter, assembling B-52 Bombers at the Cleveland Airport.

She met her husband Alfred while he was on furlough from the Navy with her brother in Cleveland. After a long courtship through letters while he was in the service, Alfred and Ruth then married and moved to New York City. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Alfred Caspersen and brother, Robert Allen.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Richard (Janis) Caspersen, Eric (Janet) Caspersen and Martin Caspersen; sisters, Debbie, Clova and Ollie; grandchildren, Craig Caspersen, Kim Caspersen, Dana (Eric) Wahlers, Jamie Caspersen and Chelsea Caspersen, and several great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 10:30 am at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
