Ruth Elizabeth Eichenlaub Waltermann, 91, beloved wife of the late Louis H. Waltermann, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2018 at Bethesda North Hospital. Ruth is survived by her 6 children, Donna (Bob) Plasters, Ken, Peggy (Randy) Truman, Jerry, Patty Reagan, and Linda (Dave) Maurer; 11 grandchildren, Brian, Jacob, Lani, Brandy, Miranda, Sara, Jessica, Nicole, Andrew, Meredith, and Tyler; 17 great-grandchildren; and long-time friends Mary Wesolowski and Marian Breen. Ruth will be remembered for her fierce independence and incredible resilience.

She enjoyed life to the fullest. An avaricious reader, Ruth was curious about life in general. She loved to travel and went on many local, regional, national, and international adventures in her lifetime, often with her BFF Mary.

She gave gallons of blood to Hoxworth Blood over the years and donated her time and energy to many organizations dear to her heart. Ruth had a great laugh and a quick wit. She enjoyed taking pictures on her 35mm camera, lunching with her Norwood school friends, eating Hershey’s chocolate bars and watching any movie starring Robert Redford.

Ruth will be honored with a Memorial Mass at Corpus Christi Church, 2014 Springdale Road, 45231 on Saturday, April 28th. Visitation will begin at 9:30am, followed by mass at 10:30am. There will be no graveside burial as she donated her body to The University of Cincinnati Medical College.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
