Obituary for Ruth “Enid” Walter Ruth “Enid” Walter, age 100, of Manor passed away Friday, November 2, 2018. She was born August 31, 1918 in Manor, a daughter of the late Charles B. and Hazel (Kifer) Walter. She was a life-time member of the United Church of Christ in Manor where she conducted Sunday school opening services, served as treasurer, and was involved in the Women’s Guild, Senior Choir and famous annual Christmas bazaar and dinner event.

She proudly served as chairperson of the Manor Community Annual Picnic held at Idewild Park for over 30 years. She retired from the accounts payable department of Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, writing poems, canning and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her bothers Clive (Bonny) Walter and Clement “Buster” Walter; infant sister Irene; and sister Edith “Marie” Walter. She is survived by her brothers Howard Walter and Harry (MaryAnn) Walter both of Manor; nieces Carol, Linda and Sandra; nephews Randy and Terry; and a great niece, a great-great niece and great-great nephew. Friends and family will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200.

Everyone will gather at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday for a funeral service with Pastor Diane Wiley officiating. Interment will follow at Brush Creek Cemetery in Irwin. Memorial contributions can be made to the First United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 463, Manor, PA 15665.
