Zarn, age 92, of Two Rivers, died Monday February 4, 2019 at The Bay at North Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Ruth was born in Manitowoc on October 10, 1926 to Frank and Agnes (Torgeson) Kautsky. She attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School, and graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School in 1945.

On May 17, 1947, she married Homer E. Zarn at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2010. Ruth was employed as a Deli Clerk with Sentry Foods in Two Rivers for many years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc, and the Crafty Ladies Group of the church. She loved spending time in her back yard, enjoying her flowers and watching the birds. Ruth and her great grandson were #1 Minnesota Viking Fans for many years; and she also loved genealogy, having done the genealogy of the entire Kautsky side of her family.

She is survived by four children: William (Lynn) Zarn of Two Rivers, Mike (Barbara) Zarn of Wisconsin Rapids, Polly Kakuk of Mishicot, and Amy (Rick) Hearley of Green Bay; five grandchildren: Neal (Shannon) Zarn, Marsha (Jason) Hansen, Nicole (Josh) Neumeyer, Adam Hearley, and Alex Hearley; four great grandchildren: Ethan, Nolan, Evyon, and Ellie; and one sister-in-law, June (Paul) Marquardt of Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer; one daughter, Kathy Semrau; and her sister, Judy Murphy. Private family services were held at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers.

Memorials would be appreciated to Holiday House of Manitowoc. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Robert Gahl; the caregivers of Heartland Hospice; and the staff of the Bay at North Ridge, for all the wonderful care and compassion given to our mother in her final days.
