Obituary for Ruth Lugo Mata Ruth Lugo Mata went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2018, at the age of 76, in San Antonio, TX. She was born on April 27, 1942 in Laredo, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Antonio and Enriqueta Lugo; sisters, Rosie Vargas and Lydia Gonzalez, and brother Hugo Lugo.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Francisco L. Mata; children, Frank Anthony Mata (Gina), Michele Mata (Hector), John Michael Mata (Priscilla), Naomi Parker (Gary), and Elaine Riojas; sisters, Teresa Lugo Gonzales and Victoria Garcia; 10 grandchildren, Abraham, Mark Anthony, Erica, Dyvette, Matthew, Kristian, Francisco, William Michael, Jacob Michael and Janelle; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Ruth worked as a Loan Manager and retired after 45 years of working with Atlas Credit and Employees Finance. Ruth enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading her bible.

She also loved to travel with her husband and going to any casino she could find. Ruth was a hardcore Dallas Cowboys fan since 1964. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at El Carmen Catholic Church on Friday, July 27, 2018. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
