, many many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Ruth, as she was known by most, began her career in Houston as a hostess at the famous Shamrock Hotel, aroung 1947. Soon thereafter she was a PBX operator for Kelley Manufacture Co. for many years.
Of course, both of these business’ are long gone. Then for many years was a receptionist for several lawyers before retiring. She was the life of the party and went dancing with friends even in her 90s.
She was a lover of animals, especially horses and dogs. She was never without a doggie, her last being “Precious” who has found a new home at Trina’s with many new “4 legged cousins”! Ruth was always dressed in the latest styles, high heels, sometimes hats, and never without her nails or hair being perfect!
Ruth was a gourmet cook and quite often redecorated her home, moving furniture around with no help. She also was not known for her driving ability, however she continued driving and taking care of herself with great pride even into her later years. We, all know how independent she was, and she worked for everything she had.
She would say, “I can do it. I did it myself”. Ruth was an amazing, smart, strong, and independent woman and will always be loved and remembered by her family and friends.
